On 13-14 July 2017, the results achieved and future plans related to the Association Agreement and DCFTA were discussed at the thematic session of 14th International Conference, “Georgia’s European Way – Ensuring Regional Security”, in Batumi, Georgia.
The Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mr. Genadi Arveladze, presented to the participants the main priorities envisaged by the Association Agenda and delivered a speech on the current achievements in fulfilling the obligations undertaken by Georgia under the DCFTA. According to Mr. Genadi Arveladze, the Government of Georgia is taking determined steps to support the private sector in increasing competitiveness in the process of implementing European standards. The achievements in exporting Georgian products on the European market were also showcased.
Key presenters of the event included Ms. Tamar Khulordava, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on European Integration; Mr. Eduard Kukan, member of the European Parliament: Luke Devine representative of the European External Action Service; Mr. Jakub Dürr, Deputy Foreign Minister of Czech Republic; and Ms. Ketevan Vashakidze; President at Europe Fund and Director at the Eurasia Partnership Foundation. The discussion session provided space for a productive exchange between the speakers and the attendees.
