Second Subcommittee Meeting Related to Sanitary and Phytosanitary Standards (SPS) under the DCFTA

The second meeting of the Georgia–EU Trade Association Committee’s Subcommittee on the Sanitary and Phytosanitary Standards (SPS) under the framework of the DCFTA was held on 10 March 2017, at Tbilisi Marriot Hotel, under the leadership of Mr. Nodar Kereselidze, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Georgia.

 

The meeting discussed Georgia’s fulfilment of DCFTA obligations. The Action Plan for the Harmonization of Georgian legislation with EU law was signed, in implementation since 2015. The meeting was attended by the representatives of the EU Directorate General (DG SANTE, DG TRADE), the Ministry of Economic Development of Georgia, the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia as well as the heads/directors of several Legal Entity under Public Laws (LEPL) – the Revenue Service, National Food Agency and the Laboratory of the Ministry of Agriculture.
